Assistant Maintenance and Classroom Technician
£27,838 - £31,459 per annum, with a discretionary range to £34,046 p.a.

Are you a hands-on, practical individual with a passion for audio visual support and customer service? Oxford University, Oxford Lifelong Learning is seeking to appoint an Assistant Maintenance and Classroom Technician to join our dynamic Facilities Team.
About the role
This position is available on a permanent contract.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Prepare and set up teaching rooms for a wide variety of courses.
- Provide and support the use of audio-visual (AV) equipment across our sites.
- Respond to general maintenance requests and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist in maintaining safe, functional, and welcoming environments for students, staff, and guests.
Hours of work:
This is a full-time position (36.5 hours per week), you will typically work 5 days out of 7. Shifts will be between the hours of the technician operation which are:
- Monday–Thursday: 07:30–19:30
- Friday: 07:30–18:30
- Saturday and Sunday: 07:30–15:30
You will be based at Rewley House in central Oxford, with additional work at other University sites in the city and in Summertown.
About you
You will have:
- Practical skills and a “can-do” approach to facilities and technical support.
- Basic experience with audio-visual equipment (training can be provided).
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage varied daily tasks.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as part of a shift pattern.

Oxford University Department for Continuing Education (OUDCE) is seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspiring tutor to contribute to the delivery of classes on key award-bearing programmes within the local and social history portfolio.
About the role
We are looking for someone to teach on the Diploma in English Social and Local History, a 2-year, part-time Level 5 course aimed at adult learners, and the MSc in English Local History – a prestigious and sought-after two year part-time postgraduate degree aimed at advanced students. The successful candidate will become part of a team of tutors working on these courses, who are dedicated to adult education and research-led teaching. The role will suit someone with broad scholarly interests within the field of English social and local history,1400-1900.
This is a part-time (0.05FTE) position, available on a permanent contract.
About you
You will hold a doctorate in English social and/or local history, with the ability to teach and support diverse group of learners through their studies. As well as demonstrating knowledge within the subject to develop and update course materials

Oxford Lifelong Learning is seeking to appoint a part-time receptionist to provide a high level of customer service to students, staff, visitors and residents.
About the role
This is a part-time (.1507FTE) position, available on a permanent contract. The shift pattern is Saturdays 1.30pm to 7pm
About you
Working at our busy Rewley House reception, you will have excellent organizational and communication skills, both face-to-face and on the telephone. You must be reliable, well-presented and be able to use your initiative to answer queries and solve any problems. Your reception duties will include using the Department’s online booking system, so you will need to have good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and email communication. Reception experience would be a significant advantage for applicants applying for this post, although it is not essential.
